The 100% cloud
application for biogas
and biomethane plants.

It manages logistics
and calculates the carbon footprint of the entire system.

The logistics of biogas plants are very complex; Biogas optitool© is able to connect all the actors involved in real time and make the entire system efficient, then provide validated data for mass balances and calculate the CO2e balance according to international reference standards*.

All parties involved have up-to-date data in real time. The software is very flexible and can therefore be easily adapted to the customer’s needs.

*The company that owns the software is certified by Bureau Veritas Italia Spa with CFP Systematic Approach in accordance with ISO 14067:2018.
Storage

The storage interface on mobile
has the same functionality as the farmer interface but refers to any digestate storage on the territory.

Farmer

The farmer interface on mobile
is designed to request transports, provide information on planned transports and to record spreads, as well as to check remaining storage capacities. The interface provides farm-specific statistics.

Biogas plant

The interfaces of the biogas plant on PC
The first interface relates to the more operational part of master data management, support for the planning of material acceptance/shipment transport. The second interface is concerned with the data validation system and monitors its performance, both in terms of transport efficiency and the CO2e impact of the whole system.

Transporter

The transporter interface on mobile
has the purpose of displaying the transport routes created by the software or requested by the farmer and the plant and of recording the data for the individual route, which are then passed on for acceptance by the biogas plant.

Flexible

developed in a flexible and modular manner to adapt to the needs of each installation

Practical

the system can be accessed
from any location and any device

Simple

the graphic interface is very simple
and immediate for each profile

Immediate

no need to install any software,
just an internet connection

Updated in real time

data from the different profiles
are updated in real time

Continuously updating

new features that are released regularly
are immediately available to users

Features

Biogas Optitool Basic

Biogas Optitool
Pro

Plans transport routes

  • automatically based on software algorithms
  • manually through the plant profile

  • from requests of the mobile profiles of connected farmers

Tracks

  • the transports carried out by the plant through the mobile profile of the drivers
  • digestate spreads made by the plant through the plant profile
  • the use of digestate through the mobile farmer profile
  • biomass transports from third parties through the plant profile

Checks

the correctness of the data on the different flows through the plant profile

Validates

the collected data through a multi-level system

Monitors

through a reporting system mass balances, empty routes etc.

Registers

the necessary plant data through the plant profile

Creates

monthly CO2e reports on biomass (for livestock effluents we take into account the methane and nitrous oxide saved compared to a situation without a biogas plant), transport and energy

Creates

half-yearly CO2e reports according to the reference standard

Eco8 srl, the company that owns Biogas Optitool©, is a silver sponsor of Biogas Italy 2025, the reference conference for agricultural biogas and biomethane in Italy, to be held in Milan, The Mall, on 13 and 14 March 2025. On the sidelines of the event, interested...

Carbon footprint: the meaning of ISO 14067:2018 for biogas and biomethane plants

The carbon footprint is the internationally recognised reference standard for calculating the CO2e impact of an organisation or product over its entire life cycle.  At the basis of the Biogas Optitool© calculation system is a cradle-to-gate study, i.e. from the...

Incentives for biomethane in mountainous agricultural contexts

The important resources foreseen by the PNRR to support investments for the construction of new biomethane production plants and for the total or partial conversion of existing biogas plants represent a very important step towards meeting climate targets. But the...
